Gilardi’s:
417-862-6400 An Italian restaurant only three houses
West of the Inn, they serve wonderful Northern
Italian food in a small, cozy atmosphere. The chef
is the owner and he ensures the food is at its best. Soups,
antipasti, salads, from traditional Caesar to Insalata di Barbabietole (beets, bleu cheese, walnuts and salad greens with champagne vinaigrette, finished with a touch of walnut oil), pastas cooked with lambshank Angus beef, veal, pork, chicken, eggplant, mushrooms, etc. The choice is difficult but the meal fabulous. Price range $9.50 - $27.75.
Gallery Bistro:
417-866-0555 Located 7 blocks West of
the Inn, along with a New York Bistro atmosphere,
they serve the prettiest food in town! Wonderful salads, fresh fish, uniquely prepared pork and beef. Vegetarian pasta dishes that melt in your mouth. Choose from our favorites
- Smoked Pork Medallions or Red Pepper Scallops - or
choose one of the nightly specials that are
described to the finest detail by their wonderful
wait staff. If you enjoy watching the chefs at work, ask for the two seats at the bar across from the food preparation area. Live entertainment is provided Friday and Saturday evenings. Price range $7.99 - $27.95.

"Cheers" where everyone knows your name! Just one
block from the Inn, this local pub is
the perfect place to grab a Boulevard Beer, watch
the game and converse with the locals. Famous for
burgers, try "Da Sandy" (named for Sandy
Koufax):1/2 lb. Angus beef marinated in their
special red hot sauce with provolone cheese. Price
range $5.50 - $12.95. They are open Sundays!
Haruno's Japanese Sushi Bar & Grill:

Located at
3044 South Fremont Avenue*, this is our favorite sushi bar that is more than just a sushi bar!
They are open daily for lunch and dinner and feature sushi chefs demonstrating their skills at the bar or by your table.

Our CIA graduate chef Rita, is the reason many come
back again and again to the Walnut Street Inn. Our
bountiful breakfasts, free with your room, are
served from 7-9am during the week, and 8-10am on
weekends and holidays. We just found a source for
local, free range chicken eggs (Millsap
Farms) so it just got better! Come on down!
